We are Margaret and Pearl. We are both in our sixties. We have been best friends for over twenty years.

This brand started at a kitchen table in the fall of 2023, after a long and honest conversation about something we were both fed up with.

The problem we both had

By the time we turned sixty, shopping for a dress had become a small humiliation.

The sleeves were too short. The waists sat in the wrong place. The fabric felt like a plastic bag. The lengths were cut for our granddaughters. The girls at the register looked past us to help the younger shoppers first.

The conversation that started it all

We were sitting in Pearl's kitchen, drinking coffee. Margaret had just come home from a full week of shopping for a wedding she had to attend. Eight stores. Three malls. Nothing that fit.

Pearl said, "We should just make them ourselves."

Margaret laughed.

Two weeks later, Margaret called back. "I have been thinking about what you said. Let's do it."

We bought one sewing machine, a roll of pattern paper, and three bolts of fabric. We sat at Margaret's kitchen table and wrote down every rule the stores had gotten wrong.
